With over 25 years of progressive experience, Marieta Mendoza is a Toronto-based senior People Operations Executive who specializes in company culture and employee engagement for high-growth organizations. Over the course of her career, she has developed a strong reputation for using influential and strategic HR best practices to amplify businesses in start-up, scale-up and entrepreneurial environments. In fact, Marieta is one of a select few HR leaders in Canada to obtain the top three Best Workplaces designations, including second place for AOL in 2014 and 2015, and third place for Flipp in 2017.
This proven track record has made Marieta a trusted advisor and mentor on several high-profile projects. As the Head of Recruitment for WIND Mobile, Marieta created and implemented a talent acquisition strategy that helped scale the company to an unprecedented 600 corporate employees and over 700 retail and call centre employees in 22 months.
Marieta was also instrumental in the merger of AOL, Verizon Media, Microsoft advertising and Yahoo, where she spearheaded talent management and development programs at a global scale. In this role, she worked closely with the C-suite and gained global experience as she set AOL’s standard for employee engagement across the US and Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific.
